Andrew Dell - b. 3-18-1847, d. 11-2-1928. Son of Henry & Catherine Yackel, he was the owner of "The Dell House" Hotel on Front St, opposite the Ferry at the turn of the century. He was previousy a Barber & Butcher. Married Catherine Eckert 1873 . They had 5 children: Ethelinda Locke (her daughter was Catherine married Charles Rhymer, son Willis b. 3-9-1918, married Donna Brown), Lilly Hodges, (buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, had 1 son), Flora Huber, George, Henry. Member of German Lutheran Church, Mannerchoir & German clubTurn Verein. He belonged to Masonic Lodge 309 F. & A.M. & Bismarck Lodge 420, I.O.O.F. Oddfellows. He lived on East Parmenter St. Information supplied by Donald Dell, great grandson of Andrew. |
