William P. C. Smith, Quit Claim to Selah R. Van Duzer re: Glebe Land $75.00 Liberty St. 3-5-1857 This Indenture made the fifth day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven Between William P. C. Smith of Newburgh in the County of Orange and State of New York of the first part and Selah R. Van Duzer of the same place of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of seventy five Dollars lawful money of the United States of America, to him in hand paid, by the said party of the second part, at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained, sold, aliened, remised, released, conveyed and confirmed; and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, remise, release, convey and confirm, unto the said party of the second part, and to his executors, administrators and assigns for ever, All that certain lot piece or parcel of land called the Glebe land, which was conveyed by the Trustees of the Glebe land to James P. Young by Glebe lease dated the third day of December the year 1841, and therein described as follows towit "Begining at the southwest corner of the lands of James Rankin three hundred and seventy eight feet west of Liberty Street in the line of the lands of Cummins and Pollack: thence along their lands westwardly thirty one feet: thence northwardly seventy one feet ten inches more or less to a lane or road, thence eastwardly along the south end of said road or lane thirty one feet to the northwest corner of said James Rankins land: thence southwardly along said Rankins land seventy one feet ten inches more or less to the place of begining: together with the use of said road or lane" Together with all and singular the tenements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining, and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, issues and profits thereof. And also, all the estate, right, title, interest, property, possession, claim and demand whatsoever, as well in law as in equity, of the said Part of the first part, of, in, or to the above described premises, and every part and parcel thereof, with the appurtenances. To have and to hold, all and singular the above mentioned and described premises, together with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his executors, administrators and assigns for ever And the said William P. C. Smith for himself and his heirs, executors and administrators, doth covenant, promise, and agree, to and with the said party of the second part, his executors, administrators and assigns, that he hath not made, done, committed, executed, or suffered any act or acts, thing or things whatsoever, whereby, or by means whereof, the above mentioned and described premises, or any part or parcel thereof, now are, or at any time hereafter, shall or may be impeached, charged, or encumbered, in any manner or way whatsoever. In Witness Whereof, the said party of the first part hath hereunto, set his hand and seal, the day and year first above written W. P. C. Smith Sealed and delivered in the presence of T. Mc Kissock On back of deed is written John W. Brown Justice of the Supreme Court of Orange County on 3-6-1857 saw Thomas Mc Kissock who knows W. P. C. Smith to be the one who executed the within deed |
