View southwest of the sediment dredging in vicinity of Feature 3 (Vessel 3). 4. View east of articulated hull section of Vessel 1 during removal from the Feature 4 area. 5. View north of the hull portion of Vessel 2 during removal from the remediation area. 60 ft. long & 35 ft. wide. 6. The sediment encapsulated hull portion of Vessel 1 consistent of partially articulated bottom frame with shell planking. Limber holes along the base of hull bottom. 7. The hull portion of Vessel 2 consisted of shell planking attached with treenails to series of parallel timbers. 8. Side of Vessel 2 defined by series of vertical timber attached to mud plate at top. Small section of ceiling planking forming interior wall is evident. 9. L-shaped timber blocks (sitting knees) attached to section of a cross timber of Vessel 2. Sitting knees held the cross timbers in place providing strength to upper portion. 10.Slightly curved timber of Vessel 2 interpreted as a fender to protect structural integrity of vessel during transport. |
